1.25 Lakh Dirhams ( 30 Lakh Rupees) in Employment Benefits Secured for Family of Deceased Kottayam Nurse in Dubai

DUBAI: The family of Asha Alli Kurian, a native of Kottayam who served as a nurse at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) for two decades, has successfully secured her full end-of-service and employment benefits, amounting to Dirhams (approximately ₹30 Lakh Indian Rupees), following a court verdict. Asha Alli Kurian, who worked at the DHA from 2003 to 2023, tragically passed away on May 18, 2023, due to liver failure. Her relatives approached Yab Legal Service CEO Salam Pappinissery to initiate legal action to claim the benefits. Under his guidance, a Tariqat Case (Inheritance Case) for non-Muslims was filed in court, with necessary documents and two witnesses presented. The Inheritance Court Judge confirmed her death, determined the legal heirs—her husband and three minor daughters—and ruled that the total amount be distributed according to legal shares. The amount was divided into six shares, with the husband receiving three shares and each of the three daughters receiving one share. As the daughters are minors, their portions were deposited into their father's bank account.
