On May 07, 2020, in Kalba, Sharjah, the vehicle driven by Ibrahim Khan lost control and hit a street light pole, overturned and hit another cement beam, killing the driver instantly. The criminal court found Ibrahim Khan guilty as the accident was caused by his own negligence.

While worried about whether he would get compensation since he was found guilty, his family approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB LEGAL SERVICES and a social activist, for compensation. Later, through his intervention, a case was registered against a leading insurance company in the UAE by submitting medical reports and police reports before the Insurance Authority. In that case, the Insurance Authority asked the insurance company to pay 200,000 dirhams in compensation.

However, the insurance company's lawyer had filed a memorandum of reply, arguing that the documents submitted were inaccurate and that Ibrahim Khan was not entitled to compensation as he was guilty. However, the lawyer for Ibrahim Khan's heirs approached the court with strong documents, including medical reports and insurance policies.

The court, which examined the submitted medical report and the documents of the heirs, rejected the insurance company's argument.
