On January 9, 2022, the bus hit Pakistani national Rahimullah in Abu Dhabi's Baniyas when he was reversing. Rahimullah, who was seriously injured in the accident, was immediately taken to Sheikh Shakhboot Hospital. The police registered a case and referred it to the court after finding that the driver was negligent and should have made sure that there were no obstacles behind him when reversing. The court found the driver guilty of driving in a manner that was harmful to another person and fined him Dh4,000.

Although the skull injury was treated and healed, Rahimullah had to remain in the hospital due to spinal injuries and bleeding in the abdomen, and the hospital authorities informed him that a huge amount would be required for further treatment. Rahimullah approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services, demanding compensation for the losses he had suffered. He immediately approached the insurance court under his leadership and filed a petition seeking compensation. The court, which considered the petition, ordered the insurance company to pay 4 lakh dirhams (i.e. 3 crore 2 lakh Pakistani rupees) to Rahimullah. However, the opposing party, expressing dissatisfaction with this verdict, approached the civil and appellate courts. The court rejected them.
