On November 12, 2019, Wasiu Rahman was helping another Pakistani national park a car within the limits of the Rashidiya Police Station in Dubai. When he was behind the vehicle, he asked the driver to reverse the vehicle, but the driver lost control and reversed, causing the vehicle to hit Wasiu Rahman. He was admitted to a nearby clinic without informing the police and was transferred to Rashidiya Hospital due to his serious injuries. When the reason for not informing the police was investigated, it was found that Wasiu Rahman had a previous check case against him and was afraid of being arrested for it. However, it was only because YAB LEGAL SERVICES representatives informed that in order to receive compensation, the police report and the verdict against the driver were obtained.

The Pakistani national who was driving the vehicle was found guilty in a criminal case by the court and was released after being fined 5,000 dirhams and a three-month license ban. On this occasion, YAB Legal Services CEO Salam Pappinissery filed a case in the Dubai Court seeking compensation against the insurance company of the vehicle.

Wasiu Rahman's lawyer argued in the court that the insurance company that insured the vehicle should pay compensation since Wasiu Rahman had sustained injuries all over his body and the cause of the serious injuries was the driver's negligence. After hearing the arguments, the court examined the documents and asked the insurance company to pay compensation of 400,000 dirhams.

However, Wasiu Rahman's lawyer approached the Court of Appeal against this, showing that this amount was not sufficient to compensate Wasiu Rahman for the injuries he suffered. Wasiu Rahman's lawyer argued that the compensation should be awarded according to the injuries, examining the medical report and documents. In response, the insurance company's lawyer filed a memorandum in which they argued that Wasiu Rahman had only suffered minor injuries and that the fault lay with Wasiu Rahman, and therefore the amount awarded should be reduced.

After considering the arguments of both parties, the court, after examining the medical report issued by the UAE Medico-Legal Department, medical expense records and police report submitted by Wasiu Rahman's lawyer, found that the injuries were serious and increased the initial award of 400,000 dirhams to 700,000 dirhams, rejected the insurance company's argument and imposed legal fees on them.
