A compensation of 27 lakh dirhams to a native of Thrissur, who was injured in a car accident.
The court has ordered a compensation of 6 crore 14 lakh Indian rupees (27 lakh dirhams) to Muhammadunni, a native of Nayarangady, Vadakkekad, Vailathur, Thrissur, who was injured in a car accident, through the intervention of YAB Legal Services CEO Salam Pappinissery.

Abu Dhabi: On April 27, 2022, a Bangladeshi national was hit by a vehicle on Hamdan Bin Mohammed Street in Abu Dhabi, violating traffic laws and ignoring the red signal, and was crossing the road at the zebra crossing. He was immediately transferred to the Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Hospital, where he was completely physically and mentally paralyzed and fell into a coma.
The Bangladeshi national who was driving the vehicle was found guilty by the court in a traffic criminal case and was released after paying a fine of 3,000 dirhams. On this occasion, a case was filed before the Insurance Authority, making the driver who caused the accident and the vehicle's insurance company the opposing party, seeking compensation. Muhammadunni's wife approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB LEGAL SERVICES in the UAE, to take legal action for this.
The advocate argued before the authority that the insurance company that insured the vehicle should pay compensation since Muhammadunni had sustained injuries all over his body and was in a permanent coma, and that the cause of the accident was the negligence of the Bangladeshi national. The medical report, the traffic criminal case verdict and other documents were submitted in support of the arguments. The authority, which observed the arguments and documents, asked the insurance company to pay compensation of 3,000,000 (3 million) dirhams.
Against this, the insurance company approached the civil court and the appeal court, arguing that the 3,000,000 (3 million) dirhams awarded by the insurance authority was excessive and requested that the compensation amount be reduced. But the court did not consider their arguments because the medical report submitted by Yab Legal Services and other documents including the accident report were in evidence before the court. Thus, both the courts rejected the insurance company's arguments. The case is now before the Supreme Court.
