A compensation of four hundred and thirty-nine thousand dirhams to be paid to a Filipino national in a car accident.
A Dubai court has ordered a compensation of four hundred and thirty-nine thousand dirhams (6 million Philippine pesos) to be paid to a Filipino national in a car accident, through the intervention of YAB legal services CEO Salam Pappinissery. The amount has been transferred.

On April 1, 2019, Celso was walking in Jumeirah, Dubai when he was hit by a vehicle driven by an Emirati citizen. The court found that the accident was due to the negligence of the driver of the vehicle that hit Celso and found that the vehicle was uninsured. The Traffic Criminal Court fined the driver Dh35,000 and released him.
After approaching many law firms to get compensation, they sent him back saying that he would not get compensation because he hit an uninsured vehicle. Finally, Celso approached YAB LEGAL SERVICES - Salam Pappinissery. Later, through his intervention, a case was registered against the driver of the vehicle before the Dubai Civil Court, submitting medical reports, police reports and criminal case reports. In that case, the court asked the driver of the vehicle to pay Dh400,000 in compensation.
However, the driver appealed to the Dubai Court, stating that according to the documents submitted, Selso did not suffer any significant injuries and that the amount awarded was excessive and that it should be reduced. When the case came back to court, Selso's lawyer submitted a reply memorandum with strong documents, including medical reports.
The arguments of the accused driver's lawyer could not stand up to the documents and arguments submitted by Selso's lawyer in the court. The appeal court found that the fault was on the part of the driver of the vehicle and that Selso had suffered serious injuries according to the medical report, so he should be paid the amount awarded by the civil court. The insurance company's argument was completely rejected.
The court ordered him to pay 439,183 dirhams (6 million Philippine pesos) based on the medical report submitted by Selso's lawyer and the injuries he had proven to the court.
