A court has ordered the payment of 200,000 dirhams to a Nigerian national who was injured in an accident at work in Fujairah.
A court has ordered the payment of 419,954,000 Nigerian naira (200,000 dirhams) to Akachi John Okereke, a Nigerian national who was injured in an accident at work in Fujairah, through the intervention of YAB LEGAL SERVICES CEO Salam Pappinissery.

On November 26, 2019, he was working as a machinery mechanic in the Al Hail area of Fujairah when a part of the JCB fell on him while he was repairing it. After examining the police investigation report and witness statements, the Fujairah Criminal Court found that the driver started the JCB before the work was completed, and accordingly, the defendant was found guilty and ordered to pay a fine of Dh1,000.
Akachi John, who suffered serious injuries to his chest and other parts in the accident, approached YAB LEGAL SERVICES CEO Salam Pappinissery for compensation. Under his leadership, the insurance company that insured JCB was registered with the Insurance Authority as the opposing party and the medical report and other documents were submitted. However, although the insurance company submitted a memorandum in response, it said that it would pay 40,000 dirhams, but Akachi's advocate was not ready to agree to it. The court, after carefully examining the memorandum and other documents submitted by Akachi's advocate, ordered Akachi John to pay 200,000 dirhams as compensation.
