On September 25, 2019, a vehicle that lost control in Muwailah, Sharjah, hit a passerby, Abdul Khader. Abdul Khader was thrown from the road and died on the spot. The Sharjah Traffic Criminal Court found that he was driving under the influence of alcohol and that the driver was at fault, imposed a fine of 15,000 dirhams and suspended his driving license for six months.

Abdul Khader was the sole breadwinner of his family, consisting of his wife and eight-year-old daughter. Therefore, his relatives approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB LEGAL SERVICES, for compensation. He examined the details of the case and immediately initiated legal proceedings.

Documents such as a special power of attorney, legal heirs certificate, and death certificate were submitted to the criminal court and the 2 lakh dirhams deposited in the court were recovered for his family.

Realizing that the 2 lakh dirhams alone were not enough, the lawyer for Abdul Qader's relatives registered a case with the Insurance Authority, seeking compensation, naming the vehicle's insurance company as the defendant. After examining the documents submitted by the lawyer, the Insurance Authority ruled that in addition to the 2 lakh dirhams, an additional 1,15,000 dirhams should be paid to Abdul Qader's family as compensation.
