Sharjah: A court in Sharjah has ordered compensation of AED 60,000 (approximately 45 Lakh Pakistani Rupees) to Muhammad Adeel Ijaz Hussain, a Pakistani national who was injured in a traffic accident.
The court also mandated that the insurance company pay 5% interest on the compensation amount from the date of the verdict until full payment, along with AED 3,850 for medical expenses and AED 500 as lawyer's fees.
The accident occurred on March 25, 2024, on Wasit Street in Sharjah. The incident took place when an Emirati woman, driving carelessly and without due attention, exited a U-turn opening and collided with the motorcycle ridden by Muhammad Adeel Ijaz Hussain.
He sustained severe leg injuries and was subsequently admitted to Al Qasimi Hospital and later transferred to Kuwait Hospital.
The Emirati woman, who was responsible for the accident, was also fined AED 1,000 by the court as part of the criminal proceedings.
Following the accident, Adeel's relatives approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services, seeking compensation.
Salam Pappinissery took up the case and registered a claim in the Insurance Compensation Court against the insurance company of the Emirati national's vehicle. He presented necessary documentation, including the medical certificate, the criminal case judgment, and a memorandum containing clear legal arguments.
The Insurance Dispute Resolution Court completed the legal procedures and ultimately ruled in favor of Muhammad Adeel Ijaz Hussain.
