SHARJAH: A Pakistani national, Salman Asif, who sustained injuries in a traffic accident in the Al Ain – Zakhir region on May 1, 2024, has been awarded 40,000 UAE Dirhams (approximately 3 million Pakistani Rupees) in compensation by the court.

The accident occurred on May 1, 2024, when Salman Asif was traveling from south to north through a parking area. He was driving at an excessive speed without regard for the road conditions, causing him to lose control of his motorbike. The bike overturned, leading to the accident, in which Salman suffered serious injuries to various parts of his body.

The court initially found that the accident was caused by Salman Asif's own fault and subsequently fined him 3,000 Dirhams. However, as Salman did not receive any compensation for his injuries, his relatives approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services.

Upon taking up the case, Salam Pappinissery initiated legal action against the insurance company of Salman Asif’s vehicle. The claim was filed in court with all necessary documents, including the medical certificate detailing the injuries and the criminal case judgment.

After considering the case, the court ordered the insurance company to pay Salman Asif 40,000 Dirhams as compensation. Furthermore, the court ruled that the insurance company must also pay 5% annual interest, 3,850 Dirhams in medical fees, and 500 Dirhams in advocate fees.
