All Sharjah bakery employees return home

Sharjah: The third group of 25 bakery workers in Sharjah, who had been suffering for the past ten months without pay and work, have returned home with the free legal assistance of Ali Ibrahim Advocates in Sharjah. In the third phase, ten workers were sent home after completing the visa cancellation procedures. Thirteen people had returned home in two phases. With this, all the workers who were in distress have returned home. Kannur native Saneesh Kunjikannan, Kasaragod natives Choyyaparaman, Raneesh Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Palakkad native Suresh Kallamparambil, Thiruvananthapuram native Babu Pachan, Tamil Nadu natives Poundurai, Murugan Andi, and Uttar Pradesh native Suresh Kumar and Parasottham Yadav returned home. Of these, three returned home with outpasses whose passports had expired. The operation was stopped due to a dispute between the owners of the Malayali-owned company. Later, the lives of the workers, including Malayalis, became miserable. The owners were not ready to return even the passports to those who decided to return home. Although the complaint was received by the relevant departments, the case was dragged on indefinitely as the owners did not appear in court. They were later helped by free legal aid from legal representative Salam Pappinissery and Ali Ibrahim Advocates in Sharjah. An organization called Ekta provided food items to the workers who were wandering around without even having enough to eat. Adv: KS Arun, Adv: Rashmi R Murali, and legal representatives Vinod Kumar and Shuhaib Madalan jointly took the helm of legal aid. The workers left their dreams half-way from the world of hopes and flew home the other day.
