A Kollam native died tragically in a collision between two vehicles in Ajman; the court ruled to pay two lakh dirhams in compensation to the family of the deceased youth.

The accident occurred on July 1, 2021, when a vehicle driven by a Kollam native was taking a pocket road to the main road in the Al Jarf area of ​​Ajman when it hit a vehicle driven by a Pakistani native. Although both were immediately taken to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital, the Kollam native's life could not be saved. The vehicle was completely destroyed due to the impact of the collision. Based on the complaint of the Pakistani native, the police, who had registered a case, investigated the accident and referred the case to the criminal court. However, the court stayed the case, stating that the case could not be continued since the accused Kollam native was no longer alive.

Many people rejected the family's request, saying that it would be difficult to get compensation since the accident was on the side of the Kollam native. Finally, they contacted Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services in the UAE, and he took them on. Immediately, under his leadership, the case was filed in the insurance court and the deceased was the dependent of a family of four and his sudden demise was beyond the family's ability to bear in every way, and therefore, the court was requested to grant compensation as soon as possible. Understanding the family's request, the court quickly considered the case and awarded two lakh dirhams (45 lakh Indian rupees) as compensation.
