Body of Malappuram native Yakub, who died in a gas cylinder explosion in Dubai, brought back home

Dubai: The body of Malappuram native Yakub Abdullah, who died in a gas cylinder explosion in Karama, was brought home on Sunday morning. He was taken to Kozhikode via Sharjah on an Air India flight at 10 pm on Saturday.

Two people died and nine others were injured in a gas cylinder explosion at Bin Haider Building near the Day to Day Shopping Center in Karama, Dubai, on Wednesday night.

Apart from Yakub, a person named Nidin also succumbed to his injuries. Hospital sources said that the condition of three people remains critical.

The legal formalities related to this have been completed and the necessary procedures for bringing the body back home have been completed under the leadership of Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services, a law firm in the UAE, and social activist Nihas Hashim. Abdulrahman, Mohammed Faisal, and other relatives, who are also staff members of the Dubai Health Department, were also there to help.
