On September 19, 2019, a Filipino national was hit by a truck driven by a Pakistani national while crossing the road near the Sharjah Al Falah American School. Amor Safra, who was seriously injured in the accident, was immediately taken to the Al Qasimiyya Hospital for treatment. The court found that he was driving recklessly, without precautions, and at high speed, and sentenced him to a fine of 2,000 dirhams and one month in prison.

Amor Safra, who was undergoing treatment for injuries to her back and left side of her body in the accident, had been diagnosed with a permanent disability of about 10 percent in her medical report. Safra approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services, claiming that she had suffered a lot of losses due to the accident and requesting compensation for it. Subsequently, under his leadership, she filed a petition in the Insurance Court, and the court, which considered the petition, awarded compensation of 250,000 dirhams (or 3.8 million Philippine pesos). However, although the insurance company approached the civil and appellate courts, arguing that the accident was not serious and the amount awarded was high, Amor Safra's lawyer submitted a medical report against their arguments and submitted a memorandum stating that most of his client's body organs had been permanently disabled and that he would face various difficulties in the future. After examining all the documents submitted by both parties, the court accepted Safra's lawyer's argument and dismissed the insurance court's case.
