On June 17, 2017, Mina Begum was hit by a reckless vehicle that did not follow traffic rules while she was walking through a pedestrian crossing in Al Ain. Mina Begum was seriously injured and was admitted to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the police filed a case against the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident and the Al Ain Traffic Court found the accused guilty and ordered him to pay a fine of 5,000 dirhams. However, Mina Begum, who was seriously injured in the accident, did not receive any compensation. That is how Mina Begum's relatives contacted Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB LEGAL SERVICES, and initiated proceedings to obtain compensation.

Under his leadership, a case was registered with the Insurance Authority against the insurance company of the vehicle that caused the accident, along with necessary documents such as medical certificates and police reports. Later, a memorandum containing strong arguments was submitted to the court. After examining the arguments and the documents submitted, the court considered the case and awarded six lakh dirhams (one crore 95 lakh Bangladeshi dhaka) as compensation.
