Sharjah: A Pakistani national, Ali Ul Haq Liaqat Ali, who sustained injuries after falling from his delivery motorcycle in Sana'iya, Sharjah, has been awarded AED 20,000 (approximately 1.55 million Pakistani Rupees) in compensation by the Court. This judgment was secured with the legal assistance of Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services. In addition, the court ordered an additional AED 3850 for medical expenses.

The accident occurred on June 11, 2022. While Ali Ul Haq was riding his delivery motorcycle through Sana'iya 15, the vehicle in front of him suddenly applied brakes. Ali also braked abruptly, causing him to lose control of his motorcycle and fall. He sustained injuries to his hands and other body parts and was admitted to Kuwait Hospital for treatment.

Initially, it was determined that Ali Ul Haq was at fault for the accident. A criminal case was filed against him, and he was fined AED 1000. Despite many suggesting that he would not receive compensation due to his fault in the accident, Ali, who was in urgent need of financial assistance, approached Salam Pappinissery. Pappinissery took on the case and initiated legal proceedings.

A compensation claim was registered against the insurance company of Ali's motorcycle. A comprehensive set of documents was submitted as evidence, including a copy of the accident report, vehicle license, driving license, insurance policy, forensic medical report, power of attorney, the complainant's identification card, email advertisements sent to the opposing party, and the receipt for the dispute fee. After reviewing the submitted documents and arguments, the Insurance Authority ruled that Ali Ul Haq should be compensated with AED 20,000, along with AED 3850 for his medical expenses.
