DUBAI: A Dubai court has awarded a Bangladeshi national, Muhammad Habib Rahman Wahed Mulla, a compensation of AED 70,000 (approximately 23.3 Lakh Bangladeshi Taka) for injuries he sustained in a car accident. The legal case was handled by YAB Legal Services CEO Salam Pappinisseri.

The accident occurred on October 12, 2023, in the Al Aweer area of Dubai. A Pakistani national driving a Mitsubishi pickup truck made an unsafe turn, colliding with a Toyota bus that had 15 passengers on board. The crash resulted in one fatality and several injuries. Muhammad Habib Rahman was among the four passengers who suffered serious injuries, including to his face, thigh, and genital area. He was rushed to Rashid Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the pickup truck was found to be at fault and was sentenced to one month in prison and a three-month license suspension by the criminal court. Seeking compensation for his injuries, Muhammad Habib Rahman's relatives approached YAB Legal Services. Under the guidance of Salam Pappinisseri, a case was filed with the insurance authority, supported by a medical certificate, police report, and other necessary documents.

After reviewing the case, the court ruled that the insurance company of the at-fault vehicle must pay Muhammad Habib Rahman a compensation of AED 70,000, in addition to AED 3,850 for his medical expenses.
