On October 24, 2017, a Pakistani national was driving a car in Sharjah's Dhaide, violating traffic rules and driving recklessly and without maintaining a certain distance, which led to a collision with a truck in front, which then caused the vehicles behind to collide one after the other. Mukul Hussain was in the vehicle driven by the driver who was responsible for the accident. Mukul and three other passengers in the vehicle suffered serious injuries. All four were immediately admitted to Al Dhaide Hospital, where one of them later died.

The Pakistani national who drove the vehicle was found guilty by the court in a criminal case and was released after being fined 2000 dirhams and sentenced to one month in prison. In this case, a case was filed in the Dubai Court for compensation, making the vehicle's insurance company the opposing party. Mukul Hussain approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB LEGAL SERVICES in the UAE and a social activist, to take legal action.

Mukul Hussain's lawyer argued in court that the insurance company that insured the vehicle should pay compensation since Mukul Hussain had sustained injuries all over his body and the driver's negligence was the cause of the serious injuries. After hearing the arguments, the court ordered the insurance company to pay 200,000 dirhams in compensation.

The insurance company approached the Court of Appeal against this and argued that the injury was not serious and that this high amount was more than the compensation. The lawyer for the insurance company argued that the compensation should be paid only according to the injuries after examining the medical reports and documents.

However, the arguments of the lawyer for the insurance company could not stand up to the medical reports and documents submitted by Mukul Hussain's lawyer.

The court, after considering the arguments of both parties, examined the medical report issued by the UAE Medical Legal Department and the records of the medical expenses and found that the first instance court had awarded the two lakhs, dismissed the appeal of the insurance company and imposed legal fees on them.
