On October 27, 2023, a Pakistani national was driving a vehicle on Al Helio Road in Ajman, violating traffic laws and hitting Abdul Hanan, who was cycling on the side of the road. The court found that the accident was due to the negligence of the Pakistani national, and the Traffic Criminal Court fined the driver 5,000 dirhams and released him.

Hanan, who suffered head, chest and shoulder injuries in the accident, approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB LEGAL SERVICES, to seek compensation. Later, through his intervention, a case was registered against a leading insurance company in the UAE and the driver of the vehicle, after submitting medical reports and police reports to the Insurance Authority.

Hanan's lawyer argued before the Authority that the insurance company that insured the vehicle should pay compensation, as Hanan had sustained injuries all over her body and that the cause of her serious injuries was the negligence of the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident. After hearing the arguments, the Authority asked the insurance company to pay compensation of 170,000 (one hundred and seventy thousand) dirhams. However, according to the documents submitted, Hanan did not suffer any further injuries and that only a small amount should be paid to Hanan. However, the opposing party approached the Court of Appeal, claiming that Hanan should be paid only a small amount, but the reply memorandum of Yab Legal Services lawyer, who came with strong documents, including a medical report issued by the UAE Medico-Legal Department and documents of medical expenses, could not stand up to the demands of the court. The Court of Appeal confirmed that the amount awarded by the Insurance Authority should be paid.
