Fujairah: Mohammed Hanifa Basheer (68) of Khorfakkan passed away. He was rushed to the hospital after he suddenly felt unwell at his residence the other day, but his life could not be saved. Basheer, a native of Mayyanad, Kollam, has been living in Khorfakkan, Fujairah, with his wife and two children for four decades. Basheer had built his own house in his homeland to stay in when he returned from exile. However, he lost that house with the death of his mother. Basheer had informed his wife and children in advance that his body, which no one would accept alive, should not be brought back to his homeland and that he should be buried in the soil of Khorfakkan.

He had suffered multiple heart attacks and was unable to go to work for some time.

Under the leadership of social activist and CEO of Yab Legal Service Salam Pappinissery, social activist Nihas Hashim, Abu Chetua and others, the police completed the procedures very quickly and at 4 pm yesterday, as per Basheer's earlier wish, the body was buried in the graveyard near the Pakistani Mosque in Khabba, Khorfakkan.

Many people, including Fujairah KMCC office bearers, Indian Social Club, Khorfakkan social activists, and high-ranking Khorfakkan police officers, participated in the funeral.
