Sharjah: Muhammad Salim, a native of Kumbala, Kasaragod, who was seriously injured in a road accident, has been handed over the compensation of 66 lakh Indian rupees (3,66,450 dirhams) awarded by the Sharjah Civil Court. Salim received the amount from Ali Ibrahim Advocates Office in Sharjah, which handled the case.

Salim was injured in an accident caused by a Sharjah Municipality vehicle in Sharjah in 2011. The accident occurred while he was working on a visit visa. The relatives and friends of the injured Muhammad Salim approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services, to handle the case. Subsequently, a case was filed in the Sharjah Civil Court demanding 10 lakh dirhams (two crore rupees) in compensation, naming Qatar Insurance Company as the defendant.

The court awarded Saleem Rs 66 lakh in damages. Although lawyers from both sides approached the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court against this, both courts upheld the lower court's verdict.
