Sharjah: Biju Ramakrishnan, a native of Thrissur who was stuck in debt, returned to his homeland after a long legal battle. Biju was helped by the free legal assistance of Yab Legal Services in Sharjah.

Biju had been working as an engineer in a company called Flex Interior in Dubai since 2009. He was not receiving his salary on time. In the meantime, when he returned home on leave, he was dismissed from his job without any reason. He asked for his visa to be cancelled by giving him benefits and salary arrears, but the company was not ready to give him any of them or cancel his visa.

In the meantime, he had to borrow a good amount of money from his friends. After months, he joined the job on the assurance that he would receive his salary on time. However, after not receiving his salary on time, he asked for his visa to be cancelled. The company was not ready for this either. When he then approached the Ministry of Labor, it was found that he had filed a complaint claiming that he had absconded. Following this, he approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services, for free legal assistance.

Through his intervention, the necessary steps were completed to resolve the absconding complaint and cancel the visa. The court also ordered that Biju Ramakrishnan be exempted from the lifetime ban and sent back to his country, with benefits, salary arrears, and a plane ticket.
