A Dubai court has ruled to pay compensation of 10.4 million Afghan Afghanis (600,000 dirhams) including court costs to Naseebullah Muhammad, an Afghan national who was injured in a car accident in Dubai, through the intervention of YAB LEGAL SERVICE CEO Salam Pappinissery.

On December 10, 2019, Naseebullah was hit by a car while driving recklessly within the limits of the Dubai Suyouh Police Station, violating traffic laws. Naseebullah was seriously injured and admitted to the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was found guilty in a criminal case and sentenced to 2 months in prison and a fine of 2000 dirhams. On this occasion, a case was filed in the Dubai Court against the vehicle's insurance company to obtain compensation. Naseebullah approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB LEGAL SERVICES, a legal aid firm in the UAE, to take legal action for this.

Naseebullah's lawyer argued in court that the insurance company that insured the vehicle should pay compensation, as Naseebullah had suffered serious injuries to his face, nose, mouth, and hands, and that the injuries were caused by the driver's negligence. After examining the arguments, the Insurance Authority asked the insurance company to pay compensation of 500,000 (5 lakh) dirhams. Realizing that the compensation awarded by the Insurance Authority was not sufficient, Naseebullah's lawyer filed a case against the insurance company in the Dubai Civil Court, submitting a medical report, memorandum, and sufficient documents. The court, after examining the documents, increased the compensation amount to 600,000 dirhams. However, the insurance company filed an appeal case, arguing that this amount was too high, but the appeal was dismissed after Naseebullah's lawyer submitted the necessary documents and submitted a detailed reply memorandum.
