Compensation of 180,000 dirhams to a Pakistani national who was injured in a car accident.
A Dubai court has ordered a compensation of one crore thirty-six lakh Pakistani rupees (180,000 - one lakh eighty thousand dirhams) to Sarfaraz Ahmed, a Pakistani national who was injured in a car accident in Abu Dhabi, through the intervention of YAB Legal Services CEO Salam Pappinissery.

On October 23, 2022, Sarfaraz's pickup truck crashed into the car in front of him on the Ajban Bridge on Sheikh Maktoum Road in Abu Dhabi due to not maintaining the required distance. Sarfaraz suffered serious injuries to both legs in the accident. He was immediately admitted to Sheikh Shakhboot Medical City Hospital.
The court found Sarfaraz guilty in a criminal case and released him after paying a fine of 1000 dirhams. After several law firms turned him away, saying that he would not receive compensation since he was the cause of the accident, Sarfaraz finally approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB LEGAL SERVICES in the UAE, to take legal action. He then filed a case before the Insurance Authority against the vehicle's insurance company to seek compensation.
The advocate at Yab Legal Services argued before the authority that Sarfaraz had sustained serious injuries and that the insurance company that insured the vehicle he was travelling in should pay compensation. After hearing the arguments, the authority asked the insurance company to pay compensation of 180,000 dirhams.
Against this, the insurance company approached the civil court and the appeal court and even the Supreme Court and argued that the injuries were not serious and that this high amount was more than the compensation and that only compensation should be paid according to the injuries after examining the medical reports and documents.
However, the arguments of the lawyer at Yab Legal Services were not accepted in the face of the medical reports and documents submitted by the lawyer.
The court, after considering the arguments of both parties, reviewed the medical report issued by the UAE Medical Legal Department and the records of the medical expenses, and found that the insurance authority had awarded the 180,000 dirhams, one hundred and eighty thousand dirhams, and dismissed the insurance company's appeal and imposed legal fees on them.
