Compensation of 23 lakh Indian rupees to a Karnataka native who was injured in a car accident.
The court has ordered compensation of 23 lakh Indian rupees (one lakh dirhams) to Mohammed Usman, a Karnataka native who was injured in a car accident in Sharjah, through the intervention of YAB LEGAL SERVICE CEO Salam Pappinissery.

On October 10, 2023, on Dhaid Road in Sharjah, the vehicle driven by Mohammed Usman lost control and hit three people standing on the roadside, before crashing into a barricade and coming to a stop. Two people died in the accident and Mohammed Usman suffered injuries to his face, nose and right eye. The injured Usman was admitted to the Sharjah Kuwait Hospital.
Since Usman himself was the cause of the accident and a criminal case had been decided against Usman, many law firms were turned away and Yab Legal Services CEO Salam Pappinissery approached him. Through his intervention, a case was filed with the Insurance Authority to obtain compensation, making the vehicle's insurance company the opposing party. The families of those who died in the accident were paid compensation through the insurance company itself.
Usman's lawyer argued before the Insurance Authority that the insurance company that insured the vehicle should pay compensation, as the injuries sustained by him were caused by the vehicle he was driving. The Authority, after examining the arguments, asked the insurance company to pay compensation of 100,000 (1 lakh) dirhams.
However, the insurance company approached the Court of Appeal, arguing that this amount was excessive, but the lawyer at Yab Legal Services submitted a detailed reply memorandum, submitting documents including medical reports, police reports and insurance policies, and rejected the insurance company's arguments.
