On November 26, 2020, at 6 pm, a vehicle driven by a Pakistani national on Sharjah Mansoora Road hit Sujeeva Vidana and her daughter, who were crossing the road, due to violating traffic rules, driving carelessly and not maintaining the prescribed distance. Sujeeva died on impact and her daughter sustained injuries. Both were immediately admitted to Sharjah Qasimiya Hospital, but Sujeeva died.

The Pakistani national who was driving the vehicle was found guilty by the court in a criminal case and was released after paying a fine of 3000 dirhams. On this occasion, the prosecution intervened through the prosecution to obtain compensation by making the driver and the vehicle's insurance company the opposing parties and filed a case in the Sharjah Sharia Court to get that money for the family. Sujeeva's family approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB LEGAL SERVICES in Sharjah, to take legal action for this.

YAB Legal Services approached the court, stating that Sujeeva had two children and that Sujeeva was their sole support, as well as submitting documents of the heirs. The court found the documents valid and awarded her a compensation of 200,000 dirhams.
