Compensation of 6 lakh dirhams to Tunisian boy, who was injured in a car accident.
A Dubai court has ordered compensation of 6 lakh dirhams (equivalent to 1 crore 36 lakh Indian rupees) to Tunisian boy Yanis Jaffer, who was injured in a car accident, through the intervention of Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB LEGAL SERVICES.

On March 13, 2022, Yanis (5) was crossing the road in front of the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai when he was hit by a vehicle driven by an Indian national. Although his mother was with him, the driver did not hit her because she was slightly behind. The driver admitted to the police that the accident was caused by him pressing the accelerator instead of pressing the brakes. Yanis, who suffered serious injuries in the accident, was admitted to Rashidiya Hospital.
Subsequently, the child's father, Ayman, approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB LEGAL SERVICES and a social activist, to get compensation for Yanis, who suffered serious injuries in the accident. Later, through his intervention, a case was registered against the insurance authority by submitting medical reports and police reports against a leading insurance company in the UAE and the driver of the vehicle. In that case, the Insurance Authority had asked the insurance company to pay only 500,000 (five hundred thousand) dirhams in compensation
However, realizing that this amount was not sufficient compensation for Yanis, who had suffered serious injuries to her head, face and chest, her advocate registered a civil case in the Dubai Court, showing that the injury was serious through medical reports and documents. Although the insurance company's lawyer argued that the injury was not serious and that the compensation amount was sufficient, it could not stand up to the precise documents and arguments of Yanis's lawyer. After hearing the arguments of both parties, the Honorable Dubai Court increased the compensation amount awarded by the Insurance Authority from 500,000 dirhams to 600,000 and ordered it to be paid to the insurance company.
Although the insurance company approached the Court of Appeal against this ruling, they were unable to hold their own against the precise arguments presented by Yanis' lawyer.
