Compensation of one crore eighty million Nepalese rupees to a Nepalese national who was injured in a car accident
A Dubai court has ordered compensation of one crore eighty million Nepalese rupees to Bijay Shrestha, a Nepalese national who was injured in a car accident in Jebel Ali.

On November 10, 2021, in Jebel Ali, Dubai, the vehicle in which Bijay was travelling collided with the vehicle in front of him. The court found that the accident occurred due to the driver of the vehicle in which Bijay was travelling driving without taking precautions and released him after paying a fine of 3000 dirhams.
Subsequently, Bijay, who suffered serious injuries in the car accident, approached YAB LEGAL SERVICES - CEO Salam Pappinissery for compensation. Later, through his intervention, a case was registered against a leading insurance company in the UAE by submitting medical reports, police reports and insurance documents before the Insurance Authority. In that case, the Insurance Authority asked the insurance company to pay 400000 dirhams in compensation.
However, Yab Legal Services lawyer approached the civil court, showing that the awarded amount was low and that it was not compensation for the injuries. The amount of compensation was increased to 500,000 (five lakhs) dirhams.
According to the documents submitted later, Bija did not suffer any significant injuries and that the awarded amount was excessive and that it should be reduced, but the insurance company appealed to the Court of Appeal, which completely rejected the argument due to lack of evidence.
Finally, based on the medical report submitted by Bija's lawyer and the proven injuries, the court ordered Bija to pay 500,000 (five lakhs) UAE dirhams, i.e. one crore eighty lakh Nepalese rupees.
