On 08/04/2021, the motorcycle driven by Pakistani national Rizwan, who was coming from Hessa Street to Al Barsha, hit a Sri Lankan national's car parked on the road. Rizwan, who was seriously injured in the accident, was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. The police, which investigated the accident, found that the car had not stopped in accordance with traffic rules and that the Pakistani national was riding the bike negligently. They filed a case against both parties and referred it to court. The criminal court also fined the Sri Lankan national 5,000 dirhams for causing bodily harm and property damage to another person.

However, when Rizwan, who had been earning his living by working as a delivery driver, found it difficult to go to work after the accident and needed a huge amount of money for further treatment, Rizwan approached Yab Legal Service CEO Salam Pappinissery, requesting compensation for the financial and moral losses he had suffered. Immediately, under his leadership, a petition was filed in the insurance court, making the company that insured the vehicle the opposing party, and demanding compensation. The court accepted the opposing parties' argument that Rizwan had only suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident, and awarded 1.5 lakh dirhams in compensation. However, Rizwan's lawyer approached the civil court, claiming that this amount was insufficient for his client, who was confined to a wheelchair due to injuries to his leg and head, and requested that a higher amount be granted. The civil court, after examining all the reports submitted by the lawyer, increased the compensation amount to three lakhs (i.e. two crore 28 lakh Pakistani rupees). The opposing parties approached the appeal court against this, but the court rejected it.
