Compensation of two lakh dirhams to an Indian man injured in a car accident in Sharjah.
The court has ordered compensation of two lakh dirhams (45 lakh Indian rupees) to Gopi Shyamdas, an Indian man injured in a car accident in Sharjah, through the intervention of YAB LEGAL SERVICES CEO Salam Pappinissery.

On June 12, 2019, Gopi Shyamdas was hit by a car while crossing the road in Shuwaihin, Sharjah. The court found that the accident occurred due to the careless driving of the car driver and fined him 1500 dirhams and released him.
Subsequently, Gopi Shyamdas, who had suffered serious injuries to his neck and right shoulder, approached YAB LEGAL SERVICES CEO and social activist Salam Pappinissery for compensation. Later, through his intervention, a case was registered against a leading insurance company in the UAE by submitting medical reports, police reports and insurance documents before the Insurance Disputes Resolution Court. In that case, the court ordered the insurance company to pay 2 lakh dirhams (45 lakh Indian rupees) as compensation.
However, the insurance company filed a case in the Dubai Civil Court, claiming that Gopi had not suffered any significant injuries according to the documents submitted and that the amount awarded was excessive and that it should be reduced. The court considered the case and reduced the compensation amount to one lakh. Meanwhile, Gopi's lawyer filed an appeal against this verdict and argued with evidence that Gopi had suffered serious injuries and that the amount awarded by the Insurance Disputes Resolution Court was appropriate. After hearing the documents submitted and arguments, the Court of Appeal ruled that the same amount of 200,000 dirhams as awarded by the Insurance Disputes Resolution Court should be paid to Gopi as compensation.
