On June 20, 2021, a Pakistani national driving a vehicle from Al Watwan Street to Hatta suddenly swerved to save a camel that had jumped in front of him, causing the vehicle to hit a nearby electric post and a concrete divider. The vehicle and the driver were seriously injured in the accident, and the injured driver was immediately taken to the hospital. The criminal court found the driver, Zayed Ayub, guilty of driving without due care and was fined 1,000 dirhams. However, following the accident, Zayed Ayub, who had been receiving treatment for injuries to his left leg and wrist, was having difficulty in receiving further treatment and had approached many people demanding compensation for the losses he had suffered. But they kept sending Zaid back, saying that the accident had occurred due to his carelessness and that the insurance company would not cover it. Finally, they approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services in the UAE, and under his leadership, filed a petition for compensation in the insurance court, making the company that insured the vehicle the opposing party. However, the insurance company opposed the petition and requested the court to dismiss the case, stating that the accident had occurred due to Syed's negligence and that the amount demanded could not be paid. However, Syed's lawyer submitted his medical report and convinced the court that the severity of the accident had been reduced due to his proper intervention. After hearing the arguments of both parties, the court ordered the insurance company to pay Syed Ayub two lakh dirhams (i.e. one crore 51 lakh Pakistani rupees) as compensation.
