Court Orders AED 50,000 Payout for Indian National Injured in Ajman Road Crash

Ajman: An Indian expatriate, Abhijith Aji, who was injured in a road accident in the UAE, has been awarded a compensation of 50,000 Dirhams (approximately 12 Lakh Indian Rupees) by the court. The insurance company of the vehicle driven by a Pakistani national, which was responsible for the accident, has been ordered to pay the amount. The favorable verdict came through the legal intervention of Mr. Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB Legal Services.
The incident occurred on November 23, 2022. The accident was caused by the Pakistani driver who entered a public road with an Ajman Green Public Vehicle without ensuring the way was clear. Abhijith Aji sustained head injuries, a laceration on his forehead, and a right-hand injury in the crash. He was immediately admitted to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital for treatment. The driver of the offending vehicle was found guilty in the criminal court and was fined 1,100 Dirhams.
Following the serious injuries sustained, Abhijith's relatives approached Mr. Salam Pappinissery, CEO of YAB Legal Services, to pursue a compensation claim. The case was filed with the Insurance Dispute Resolution Court, backed by sufficient documents including the criminal case report and the forensic report.
The Insurance Dispute Resolution Court, after reviewing the case, ordered the insurance company to pay 50,000 Dirhams as compensation. The insurance company had requested the court to reject any claim exceeding 20,000 Dirhams, but the court dismissed this request. The insurance company of the vehicle that caused the accident is liable to pay the compensation amount to Abhijith Aji.
