DUBAI: The family of Arif Ali Amanat Ali, a Pakistani national who died in a car accident in Dubai's International City on November 8, 2021, has been awarded a compensation of AED 200,000 (approximately 15 million Pakistani Rupees) by the court.

The accident occurred on November 8, 2021, in International City when the car driven by Arif Ali, due to negligent driving and failure to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, collided with a car driven by a Chinese citizen. Arif Ali sustained critical injuries in the crash and died on the spot. Since the accused party in the criminal case passed away in the accident, the court closed the criminal proceedings.

Arif Ali's family consists of his wife, a daughter, and his elderly mother. His relatives approached YAB Legal Services CEO Salam Pappinissery to seek compensation and entrusted him with the case.

A civil case was registered in the court, submitting all necessary documents, including a Special Power of Attorney and a Sole Breadwinner Certificate.

The court ruled that the insurance company of Arif Ali's vehicle, which caused the accident, must pay the deceased's family AED 200,000 as compensation. Furthermore, the court ordered the insurance company to pay 5 percent interest on the amount from the date of the judgment until the full payment is settled.
