Dubai Court Awards AED 55,000 to Motorcyclist Injured in Al Qawaneej Crash

Dubai: A Pakistani national, Kashif Saleem Muhammad Saleem, has been awarded AED 55,000 (approximately PKR 42.4 lakh) in compensation by a Dubai court following a road accident. The court's judgment, which also includes an additional AED 3,850 for medical test fees, was secured with the legal assistance of YAB Legal Services and its CEO, Salam Pappinissery.
The accident took place on January 13, 2024, in the Al Qawaneej area of Dubai. Kashif, who was riding a motorcycle, was struck from behind by a Range Rover driven by an Emirati citizen. The court determined that the collision was caused by the car driver's failure to maintain a safe distance. Kashif sustained a serious injury to his right shoulder in the incident.
While a criminal case related to the accident was dismissed due to a lack of sufficient evidence, Kashif’s relatives sought legal recourse for compensation. They approached Salam Pappinissery to file a claim on Kashif’s behalf.
YAB Legal Services registered a compensation case with the insurance authority against the Emirati citizen’s insurance company, submitting all necessary medical reports and documentation. After reviewing the evidence, the court ruled in favor of Kashif, ordering the insurance company to pay a total of AED 55,000 in compensation, along with AED 3,850 to cover the costs of his medical tests.
