Electricity and water have been restored to the residences of about 25 bakery workers in Sharjah who had been suffering without salary and work for nine months.

The establishment, owned by Bangalore natives and Malayalis, was the one that had been causing hardship to bakery workers in the Sharjah industrial area by not paying them their salaries or benefits on time. They were not willing to renew their visas or cancel their visas and send them back to their country. The company authorities also confiscated their travel documents, including passports. Although they approached the Ministry of Labor on this occasion, the company authorities have been in denial for months.

Then, they approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services. With their free legal assistance, the necessary assistance was provided under the leadership of legal representative Salam Pappinissery to quickly cancel the visa, receive benefits, and restore the facilities at the place of residence. In the case, the labor court ordered the payment of salary arrears and benefits, the visa was canceled, and the workers were sent home.

However, the company authorities did not comply with the court order and disconnected the electricity connection in the camp where the workers were staying and switched off the AC. Then, they approached the court again for enforcement of the judgment.

The court ordered the restoration of the electricity connection and other facilities at the place of residence and the confiscation of the movable property in the bakery.
