Family of Pathanamthitta native who died in accident in Sharjah gets 36 Lakh Rupees compensation

Sharjah: The Sharjah Court has ordered a compensation of two lakh dirhams (approximately Rs. 36 lakhs) to the heirs of Pradeep Kumar, a resident of KP Bhawan, Keerukuzhi, West, Pathanamthitta, who died in a road accident in Sharjah.

Pradeep Kumar, a labor supervisor at Al Huriya Metal Coating Company in Sharjah, was killed in January 2015 in Sharjah Al Khan when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a UAE citizen. He died when he was crossing the road with his bicycle at a crosswalk. The court had ordered the deceased’s dependents to be paid diya money under the category of accidental killing. The verdict was to cancel the accused’s license for four months and pay diya money of two lakh dirhams. The court also ordered him to fast every two months. Pradeep's family has filed a case through Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services, seeking compensation of five lakh dirhams (Rs. 90 lakhs).

Pradeep is married to Geethu, a native of Changanassery. He has a four-year-old son, Parthip.
