Sharjah: Mujeeb Rahman, a native of Pappinissery Boat Jetty, Kannur, who was in distress due to a false complaint after his passport was returned by the company owner, has fled the country.

Mujeeb worked in a supermarket owned by a native of Kozhikode Vadakara near Sharjah National Paints for the past 9 years. However, the company did not give him leave salary or a return ticket. The cost of the visa was also deducted from his salary. Since there was no progress in the work being done, Mujeeb decided to leave the job and approached the company manager demanding his service allowance, leave allowance, return ticket, etc. so far. However, the company authorities said that it was not possible to provide any benefits or rights.

Due to such an approach from the company authorities, Mujeeb filed a case with the Labor Department to get his benefits. At the end of the case, the court ordered Mujeeb to be paid 28,000 dirhams as service allowance for nine years and a return ticket. However, the company did not pay compensation and appealed against this court order. The court submitted fake documents showing that the visa and ticket were provided free of charge, showing receipts for the expenses of the visa and ticket that were deducted from Mujeeb's salary. Later, the court reduced the 28,000 dirhams awarded as allowance to 7,000 dirhams and also ordered a return ticket.

The company authorities, who agreed to pay all this, overturned the court order and created a situation where Mujeeb, who was about to return home, was framed in a false case on the charge of threatening the company authorities and forced to return from Dubai Airport.

Then, when Mujeeb had no alternative, he approached Salam Pappinissery, a prominent legal representative and social activist in the UAE. He took up this criminal case and approached the court again, showing that there was no evidence for the false allegations made by the company officials. After evaluating the strong arguments of both parties, the case filed by the company authorities was dismissed. Mujeeb, who got justice through Salam Pappinissery, returned home and joined his family.
