Compensation of 56 lakh Indian rupees to Minturoy, an Indian national who was injured in an accident at work.
A Dubai court has ordered the compensation of 56 lakh Indian rupees (two lakh fifty thousand dirhams) to Minturoy, an Indian national who was injured in an accident at work, through the intervention of YAB LEGAL SERVICES CEO Salam Pappinissery.

On February 14, 2018, Minturoy, who works for a contracting company located in the Jebel Ali First Industrial Area in Dubai, was injured after falling from a scaffold. While fitting electrical wires to the ceiling of a parking floor, the Pakistani national asked him to move the scaffolding a little and while doing so, he lost his balance and fell from a height of three meters. He was immediately admitted to the hospital by ambulance.
The court found that the accident was caused by the negligence of the company's security supervisor, site engineer and foreman supervisor and the company's failure to provide safety systems, and then the court fined each of them 10,000 dirhams and released them.
Minturoi suffered serious injuries following the accident. Therefore, he approached YAB LEGAL SERVICES CEO Salam Pappinissery to obtain compensation and then registered a case in the Dubai Civil Court under his leadership. The case for compensation was registered against the company and the insurance company that caused the accident. Minturoi's advocate approached the court with strong documents such as medical reports and criminal case judgments.
Minturoy's lawyer argued in court that the company had committed errors such as not providing caution and danger signs at the site, not providing adequate training on safe work procedures and hazards, and the absence of a supervisor at the workplace. The court, after examining the documents and arguments submitted, considered the case and awarded Minturoy two hundred thousand dirhams as compensation. However, the Dubai Court of Appeal, stating that the award was insufficient, increased the two hundred thousand dirhams awarded by the lower court to two hundred and fifty thousand dirhams (56 lakh Indian rupees).
