Compensation of three lakh dirhams to a native of Kozhikode, who was injured in a car accident in Dubai.
The Dubai court has ruled to pay compensation of three lakh dirhams (sixty-eight lakh Indian rupees) to Ashraf, a native of Kozhikode, who was injured in a car accident in Dubai, through the intervention of YAB Legal Services CEO Salam Pappinissery.

On May 4, 2021, Ashraf was crossing the road on Al Quds Street in Dubai when he was hit by a car driven by an Indian national. Ashraf, who suffered serious injuries in the impact of the lightning strike, was immediately taken to Dubai's Rashid Hospital for treatment.
The criminal court found that the accident was caused by excessive speed and carelessness while driving, and fined the accused and released him.
Ashraf, who was confined to a wheelchair due to non-stop bleeding from his head and injuries all over his body, approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services in the UAE, to seek compensation. He then submitted Ashraf's medical reports and other documents to the insurance court, which awarded him 1.5 lakh dirhams in compensation. However, the insurance company approached the civil court, stating that the injury was not serious and that the amount was too much. Against the evidence they gave, Ashraf's lawyer convinced the court through medical reports of the accident he had suffered and the dangers that lay ahead for him in the future. He also argued that he was a family man and had many dependents, and that he would not be able to work until his injuries healed, and therefore the amount awarded by the insurance court was not sufficient and that the court should increase it.
The court, after considering the arguments of both parties, found that the 1.5 million dirhams awarded by the insurance court was not sufficient, after examining the medical report issued by the UAE Medical Legal Department and the documents of the medical expenses, and increased it to 300,000. However, although the insurance company appealed against this, they were unable to present any concrete evidence against the documents submitted by Ashraf's lawyer, and the insurance company's appeal was dismissed and legal fees were imposed on them.
