Family of Pakistani national, who died in a car accident, to be paid a compensation of two lakh dirhams.
The court has ordered the family of Pakistani national Arsalan Ali, who died in a car accident in Dubai, to be paid a compensation of two lakh dirhams (one crore 53 lakh Pakistani rupees) through the intervention of Yab Legal Services CEO Salam Pappinissery.
On January 28, 2019, a vehicle driven by a Pakistani national lost control and met with an accident on the Dubai-Al Ain road. He was immediately taken to Rashid Hospital for treatment, but he died. The police registered a criminal case, but the court stayed the case, saying that the complaint would not stand since the accused was dead.
However, the family of the deceased Arsalan Ali approached many people for compensation, but they were sent back saying that it was difficult to get compensation because the fault was on Arsalan's side and he was dead. Finally, they approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services in the UAE, and informed him of the family's difficulties. The case was filed under his leadership, making the insurance company the opposing party, stating that the deceased Arsalan was the only support of the family and that his sudden death was beyond the family's ability to bear. However, the insurance court clarified that the fault was on Arsalan Ali's side and that he drove recklessly and did not follow traffic rules, and therefore it was difficult to pay compensation. However, after examining the documents submitted, the court awarded two lakhs. The insurance company was ordered to pay 100,000 dirhams (1 crore 53 lakh Pakistani rupees) in compensation.
