Intervention by social workers paves way for Pathanamthitta native to return home

Sharjah: Rajesh Rajappan, a native of Adoor, Pathanamthitta, who came to Sharjah 5 months ago in search of a job and fell ill, was greatly helped by the intervention of social worker and Sharjah KMCC State Women's Wing Joint Secretary Haseena Rafeeq. Since the lockdown began, they have been at the forefront of delivering food and distributing kits to expatriates, especially Malayalis. They have also been providing assistance to pregnant women who are facing difficulties due to the lockdown. It is in this context that Rajesh's case comes to the fore.
Rajesh came to Sharjah looking for a job in the mechanical sector. But so far, he has not been given any job. He has been staying with a friend in Muvailha so far. While looking for a job, he developed severe stomach pain and skin allergies.
When the stomach pain became severe, it was discovered that it was an ulcer during the examination. Since there was no insurance coverage for this, a huge amount of money was required to treat it. However, the lockdown came at a time when he was preparing to return home due to lack of income. With this, Rajesh was in a complete crisis.
When Rajesh could not even eat, he posted a post on his Facebook page asking for a food kit. Haseena Rafeeq noticed this post and contacted him and inquired about his condition. After learning about his condition, Haseena approached Salam Pappinissery, a legal representative in the UAE, chairman of the Global Pravasi Association, and social activist. He spoke to a prominent doctor about the condition of the patient and, understanding the seriousness of the disease and his condition, Salam Pappinissery provided him with a free flight ticket to return home through the free legal aid of the Global Pravasi Association. Rajesh left the country on an Air India flight at 1.45 pm today (23/05/2020).
