Kerala Native on Visit Visa Passes Away in Dubai from Pneumonia; Body Repatriated Home

DUBAI: Madhavan Mulakkal (76), a native of Atholi in Kozhikode, Kerala, passed away in Dubai due to pneumonia while on a visit visa. His mortal remains have been repatriated back to his hometown in Kerala.

Madhavan had arrived in the UAE to visit his son, Rineesh, a businessman residing in Al Qusais, Dubai. On the second day of his arrival, Madhavan developed a fever and was admitted to Aster Hospital, Al Qusais. Subsequent medical examinations revealed that he was suffering from severe pneumonia. His condition rapidly deteriorated, leading to septic shock, which was recorded as the direct cause of death (with pneumonia as the underlying cause). He passed away on July 13.

Following his death, the family contacted the body repatriation team led by Salam Pappinissery to assist with the legal formalities. The team completed the documentation and clearances swiftly.

The mortal remains were dispatched to Kozhikode International Airport on an Air Arabia flight from Sharjah at 10:00 PM on July 15.
