Malayali stranded in Sharjah gets his passport back

Sharjah: A Malayali man got his passport back after a company held him for a year. Aneesh A Nair, a native of Aluva, Ernakulam, got his passport back.
Aneesh worked at a government furnishing company in Sharjah's SAIF Zone from July to September 2018. Suddenly, one day, the company authorities told him that there was less work in the company and that he would not have to come to work from tomorrow and dismissed him. The company authorities said that they would give him 3 months' salary arrears and an NOC to work in another company. However, a few days after he left work, he came to know about the closure of the company when he went to the company to receive the benefits promised by the company.
Aneesh thought that his passport must have been handed over to the legal department when the company closed. When he went there and inquired, he found out that the passport had not been handed over there. Later, he approached the Free Zone Legal Department to file a case against the company, but there was no favorable approach. Later, he approached an outside advocate's office to file a case against the Pakistani national, the owner of the company, to get his passport, but to no avail. In the meantime, the passport had expired. Anish, who was completely panicked, finally approached Salam Pappinissery, a legal representative and social activist in the UAE.
Understanding the situation, Salam Pappinissery took up the case. Later, he met with the company authorities and filed a case, and Anish got his passport back.
