Motorcycle Crash Victim Awarded AED 110,000 in Court Ruling

ABU DHABI: An Abu Dhabi court has awarded a Pakistani national, Intisar Hussain Iftikhar, a compensation of AED 110,000 (approximately 8.53 million Pakistani Rupees) in a motorcycle accident case. The judgment, which also includes AED 3,850 for medical expenses, was secured through the intervention of Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services.
The accident occurred on February 5, 2024, in the Al Sanaiyah area of Musaffah, near a steel factory. Intisar Hussain Iftikhar was riding his motorcycle when he lost control near a roundabout due to a lapse in attention, causing the vehicle to fall and him to sustain injuries. He was immediately transported to Al Ahliya Hospital in Musaffah for treatment.
Investigations by the police determined that the accident was caused by Iftikhar's failure to exercise due care and attention while driving on a public road. A criminal case was filed against him, resulting in a fine of AED 3,000.
Following the accident, Iftikhar suffered multiple injuries to his head, neck, and arms. In pursuit of compensation for his injuries, he approached Salam Pappinissery of Yab Legal Services. Salam Pappinissery initiated legal proceedings by registering a case with the Insurance Authority, naming the insurance company of Iftikhar's motorcycle as the opposing party.
The case was supported by comprehensive documentation, including the accident report, the judgment from the criminal case, and forensic medical reports detailing the extent of his injuries. After reviewing all the evidence, the court ruled in favor of Intisar Hussain Iftikhar, ordering the insurance company to pay the aforementioned compensation and medical expenses.
This successful outcome highlights the importance of legal representation in navigating complex accident claims and ensuring fair compensation for victims.
