MV Govindan Master’s Intervention: Kannur Native Stuck in Legal Labyrinth Receives Pending Dues from Employer

Sharjah: Nisha Rajan, a native of Pokkundu, Kurumathur in Taliparamba, Kannur, who was left stranded for about five months without salary by her company management, has finally received her pending wages and benefits following the intervention of former Taliparamba MLA and CPI(M) State Secretary, MV Govindan Master.

Two years ago, Nisha Rajan, a professional beautician, left her husband and children back home in India to come to Sharjah alone in order to overcome financial hardships. A beauty salon in Sharjah owned by a native of Ernakulam pushed her into deep distress by withholding her salary.

Although Nisha filed a complaint with the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), the initial complaint was dismissed, and her visa was cancelled without clearing her dues. It was under these difficult circumstances that she sought the assistance of former Thaliparamba MLA MV Govindan Master. He immediately notified Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services in the UAE, in writing.

When Yab Legal Services contacted the salon owner to resolve the matter, the owner showed reluctance, prompting the firm to pursue legal action. Upon learning of the impending legal proceedings, the company owner reached out through intermediaries to settle the dispute. Following this, Nisha received her rightful dues of 8,000 dirhams (approximately two lakh Indian rupees) along with court expenses, successfully resolving the issue.

Expressing her profound gratitude, Nisha Rajan noted that the timely intervention of MV Govindan Master and Salam Pappinissery proved to be her ultimate lifeline during her darkest crisis after coming abroad to clear her debts back home.

Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services, remarked that disputes between employers and employees are common in the UAE and should ideally be resolved amicably through mutual dialogue. Attempting to settle issues before escalating them to legal authorities helps prevent unnecessary litigation, he added.
