Abu Dhabi: Chutra Bahadur Sarki, a Nepali national, who was injured in a road accident while crossing the road in the Musaffah Industrial M37 area of Abu Dhabi on May 17, 2023, has been awarded AED 100,000 (3.7 million Nepali Rupees) in compensation. The court's verdict came following the intervention of Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services.

Sarki was hit by a vehicle driven by a Pakistani national. He was immediately taken to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City Hospital for treatment. The police investigation determined that the accident was caused by the negligence and inattentiveness of the Pakistani driver, leading to a criminal case being filed against him and a fine of AED 3000. However, Chutra, who sustained injuries to his chest, spine, and other parts of his body, had not received any compensation.

It was then that his relatives approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services. Pappinissery took on the case and initiated legal proceedings to secure compensation. The case was registered with the Insurance Authority, including necessary documents such as medical certificates, power of attorney, and the criminal case judgment. The insurance company of the vehicle involved in the accident was named as the opposing party. The court, after considering the case, ordered the payment of AED 100,000 (3.7 million Nepali Rupees) as compensation.
