Sharjah: The family of Muhammad Ayaz Khan, a Pakistani national who died in a road accident in Sharjah's Sanaiya 2 area, has been awarded AED 100,000 (approximately PKR 76.77 Lakh) in blood money.

The accident occurred on December 21, 2024, when a Mitsubishi car collided with a bicycle. The car, driven by a Pakistani national, suddenly swerved from the middle lane to the right lane, hitting the cyclist, Muhammad Ayaz Khan. The impact threw him 17 meters away, where he struck a parked car and died instantly.

The police investigation determined that the driver was at fault, operating the vehicle carelessly and in violation of traffic laws. The court subsequently found the driver guilty, ordering him to pay a fine of AED 1,000, provide AED 100,000 in blood money, and fast for two consecutive months as atonement for his mistake.

Ayaz's death left his family, including his parents and wife, in deep distress. His relatives approached Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services, for assistance in obtaining the blood money. Through his intervention, all necessary documents, including the legal heir and breadwinner certificates, were submitted. The legal team successfully secured the AED 100,000 from the insurance company of the at-fault vehicle.

Deeming the amount insufficient to compensate for the family's loss, Yab Legal Services has filed a separate claim for additional compensation with the Insurance Authority. This case is currently under consideration by the court.
