Pakistani National Receives Compensation After Abu Dhabi Accident

Abu Dhabi: Muhammad Aliyan Muhammad Abbas, a Pakistani national, who sustained serious injuries in a road accident in Al Khalifa City Airport Road, Abu Dhabi, on September 16, 2023, has been awarded AED 30,000 (approximately PKR 2.3 million) in compensation by the Insurance Authority. The intervention of Yab Legal Services proved instrumental in this verdict.
Aliyan, a Pakistani national, was riding his motorcycle through the bridge in Khalifa City towards Shakhbout City when, due to his inattention and lack of necessary precautions, he collided with the rear of a Nissan Patrol driven by an Emirati national. The accident occurred as a result of a collision between the motorcycle and the car.
In the criminal case that followed the accident, Aliyan was found guilty based on his confession, accident records, and the traffic report. He was fined AED 2,000 in the criminal case and his driving license was suspended for three months.
Following the accident, Muhammad Aliyan suffered severe injuries to various parts of his body, including a serious nose injury and pelvic trauma.
Aliyan's advocate argued, supported by medical certificates, that he had sustained severe injuries due to the accident and was entitled to a higher amount of compensation. The case was filed against the insurance company of the motorcycle Aliyan was riding.
After a thorough review of the submitted documents, the Insurance Authority accepted the arguments of Muhammad Aliyan's advocate and ordered the payment of AED 30,000 in compensation.
