Pakistani National Awarded AED 100,000 Compensation in Road Accident Case

Abu Dhabi: A Pakistani national, Ahmad Zeeshan Muhammad Ishaq, who sustained injuries in a road accident in Shareesha, Ras Al Khaimah, on July 23, 2023, has been awarded AED 100,000 (7.75 million Pakistani Rupees) in compensation. This favorable verdict came about through the legal intervention of Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services.
The accident occurred in the Shareesha area of Ras Al Khaimah. Ahmad Zeeshan was riding his motorcycle when it collided with an Emirati national who was crossing the road. Both individuals sustained injuries in the incident. A police investigation determined that Zeeshan was at fault, citing a lack of necessary care and caution while driving on a public road as the cause of the accident. Consequently, a criminal case was filed against Zeeshan, and he was fined AED 2,000.
Zeeshan, who suffered injuries to his chest, hand, and shoulder, was immediately admitted to the hospital following the accident. Despite the criminal court's verdict, he had not received any compensation for his injuries. It was under these circumstances that Zeeshan approached Salam Pappinissery. Salam Pappinissery then filed a compensation claim with the Insurance Authority, submitting essential documents including a copy of the accident report, the criminal case judgment, a forensic medical report, and medical treatment receipts. The insurance company of Zeeshan's vehicle was named as the respondent in the case.
After reviewing the case, the court ordered the insurance authority to pay Ahmad Zeeshan AED 100,000 in compensation and an additional AED 3,850 for medical expenses.
