On September 27, 2018, Qasim, who was riding a bike, was hit by a bus belonging to another Pakistani national who was driving without following traffic rules within the limits of the Industrial Area Police Station in Sharjah. The court found that the accident was due to the negligence of the driver of the opposing vehicle that collided with Qasim's vehicle, and the Traffic Criminal Court fined the driver 2000 dirhams and released him.

Subsequently, Qasim, who had sustained serious injuries in the accident, approached YAB LEGAL SERVICES - CEO Salam Pappinissery to seek compensation. Later, through his intervention, a case was registered against a leading insurance company in the UAE and the driver of the vehicle for compensation by submitting medical reports and police reports before the Insurance Authority. However, the opposing insurance company argued that Qasim's medical report was from Pakistan, that he was in the country, that there were no injuries as mentioned, and that all the injuries had now been cured. Qasim's lawyer responded to all this by bringing the latest medical reports from Pakistan, legally translating them and submitting them before the court, arguing that he should be compensated for the injuries he sustained.

The court, which later examined the medical reports and police reports submitted by Qasim's lawyer, ordered the insurance company to pay 700,000 dirhams (5 crore 31 lakh Pakistani rupees) plus 5 percent of its legal value as compensation. Although the insurance company approached the higher courts with its baseless arguments against this, it was worthless in the face of the documents submitted by Qasim's lawyer.
